Cloudbleed and Advaita

Cloudbleed and Advaita

On February 17, 2017, we found out about Cloudbleed, a major leak of user data affecting several sites and services that use infrastructure provided by Cloudflare. As part of Advaita’s commitment to offering a HIPAA compliant secure informatics platform, we wanted you to know that the Advaita Cloud Solution Platform (including iPathwayGuide, iVariantGuide, and iBioGuide) does not use services from Cloudflare and has NOT been impacted by this incident and NO Advaita user data has been leaked.

Some other bioinformatics service providers seem to have been impacted by the Cloudflare security issue (e.g. 23andMe, Qiagenbioinformatics, etc.). We encourage you to investigate if any of your other service providers are potentially affected by Cloudflare. Here are a couple resource to check:

http://www.doesitusecloudflare.com/ (enter a domain URL)
https://cloudbleed.github.io/ (Checks your browser’s cache for limited # of known affected sites)

If you have any questions about your Advaita account, please do not hesitate to contact our customer support team at: support@advaitabio.com

Best Regards,
The Advaita Security Team
